The Sun is Shining!

The Sun is Shining in Scotland

Did you think that it is always grey and rainy in Scotland? Fortunately, for us, this is not the case. In fact, in this area June is our sunniest month of the year, which is also often the month we get the least wind. This is why we have combined solar and wind power in our microgrid based in the Energy Park, Methil, Fife.

We have just looked over our solar energy generated in June 2018 and we are delighted with the data. We knew it had been an unusually sunny June, but we have generated more solar power than expected. Our total solar energy generated in June 2018 was over 20,000 kWh, compared to 17,000 kWh of solar energy generated in June 2017. So the sun does occasionally come out in Scotland! Let us hope we have many more sunny summer days ahead of us to help our PV panels meet the energy demand of the microgrid.

To find out more about our solar generation or wind generation statistics, book a tour. Tours can be run Monday to Friday during business hours.  Alternatively ask about our consultancy services, where we can help you design your project.

We help demonstrate the role the energy efficiency, renewables & hydrogen play in reducing the impact of climate change and securing the world's future energy supply.
