The Energy Centre houses all the technologies, including our ground source heat pump and all the switch gear controls.

The office building is heated by a 28kW ground source heat pump that is normally powered by the wind turbine. This heat pump has four 100m deep boreholes in order to extract geothermal energy. The building also includes 4 different heating methods: underfloor, in wall, trench and radiators.

Since undertaking the Levenmouth Community Energy Project, the Energy Centre now houses the 250kW PEM electrolyser, 100kW PEM fuel cell, the ground source heat pump, our smart grid control system, and the two hydrogen storage tanks.  The electrolysers used for refuelling are housed in self contained refueller units which back onto the energy centre.
