Hydrogen Boiler 2012-2014

A hydrogen boiler is similar to conventional condensing natural gas boilers in that it provides high efficiency heating. The boiler itself heats the water using a catalytic burner, i.e. there is no flame. The heat produced by this reaction is removed using a heat exchanger providing 40-50 oC water for the heating system.

The Hydrogen boiler turned renewably generated electricity into hot water  helping to decarbonise the heating system in the Fife Renewables Innovation Centre.
