Mind the Gap

Bright Green Hydrogen and Bright Green Business are working in conjunction to offer  a new schools programme called Mind the Gap! This runs in the Midlothian Council area.

Mind the Gap is an educational programme which is designed to address the key growth employment sectors in Midlothian. Students from Midlothian Secondary Schools have the opportunity to experience master classes in the following sectors;

  • STEM
  • IT
  • Finance
  • Hospitality

Mind the Gap! takes place over 12 weeks and aims to inspire students to build their own future through presentations, employer talks, hands-on workshops and workplace visits.  These communicate key skills including team work, problem solving, time-management, networking and interview skills.

Activity sessions run from April to June 2018, and targets those studying National 4 or those looking to leave school in the summer. Students can take part in classroom sessions held at a central school location, and BGH/BGB expects pupils to make their own way to site visits.

We are currently looking to identify suitable students for this programme. If you know of any interested students, please email: brightgreenbusiness@thehydrogenoffice.com

Midlothian Council supports Mind the Gap!  through the Schools Vocational Directory. School funds are required to cover the cost of £525 per student.

We help demonstrate the role the energy efficiency, renewables & hydrogen play in reducing the impact of climate change and securing the world's future energy supply.
