Every year the Hydrogen Challenge is run in conjunction with Fife College for S3 pupils.
Teams of 4 pupils from High Schools around Fife, are given interactive demonstrations of what hydrogen is, how hydrogen can be produced, stored, and then used in a fuel cell to make electricity.
The day forms two parts, the morning challenge is to design a moving air ship that can carry a load, and the afternoon challenge is to design a fuel cell powered boat.
After much investigation, deliberation, building, testing, laughing, amending and fixing, the pupils demonstrate their air ships and boats to see whose travels the furthest.
The next challenge takes place on the 2nd October 2015. If your school would like to take part, then please get in touch!
See you there!
